Course Description

This programme has been developed for any healthcare practictioners working in the NHS and Non NHS setting to learn about catheterisation in the context of their own practice.

Urinary catheterisation is an intervention performed by health care workers to enable emptying of the bladder, or instillation of a solution / medication, by insertion of a catheter. Many clinical situations are appropriate for the placement of catheters, but too frequently they are used without proper indication or continued longer than needed.
