Course Description

The course looks at how to prevent fires, and what action must be taken if a fire happens. It is suitable for anyone who is looking to gain more information on promoting fire safety in the workplace.

Overview – Promoting Fire Safety
The module looks at how to prevent fires, and what action must be taken if a fire happens.

Fire is the probably the biggest risk to life that most people face at work, with around 50 people being killed and over 2000 seriously injured every year. To prevent the risk of fire, it is vital that everyone is aware of the common causes of fire and the appropriate actions to take in the event of a fire, including how to escape safely from the scene.

Who should take this course?
This course is designed for those looking to gain more information on promoting fire safety. This includes mangers, supervisor, employee, parents and students.

This course can useful for any employee in any organisation including, chefs, kitchen staff, bar managers, office workers, factory workers and hospital workers.

Lesson Plan
The learning outcomes for this module are as follows:

  • Explain how to prevent fires from starting or spreading
  • Explain the importance of maintaining clear evacuation routes at all times
  • Describe what to do in the event of a fire

Accreditation
The content of this course has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.

Certification
On completion of this course you will be able to download a certificate.

Duration
This course will take approximately one hour to complete, depending on how quickly learners can study and absorb the material. Learners do not have to complete all the training in one session as progress is recorded throughout.

Test and certificate
The end of course test consists of 15 multiple choice questions. Learners are required to achieve a 75% pass mark, and, if necessary, may attempt the test six times at no extra cost.

If learners do not achieve the 75% pass mark, further attempts may be given by contacting our support team.

Learners will be able to download a digital certificate on completion. This can be printed, and we suggest you keep it for your records.
