Our client, a well known and well respected Accountancy practice with over 80 staff in 8 sites across Yorkshire, now have an opening for a Team Leader to run their office in North Yorkshire / Richmondshire

Working as a key member of the Company’s management team, As Accountancy Team Leader – Sage, IRIS, VAT you will lead a small team of Accountancy professionals, providing high quality Accountancy services to local businesses.

It is expected that the Accounts Team Leader – IRIS, SAGE, VAT will demonstrate a high level of leadership, organisation and prioritise to manage, not only their own work but that of the office. The Accounts Team Leader will actively use Iris Practice Management to assign jobs and tasks to their team and their own jobs and tasks to structure their own work activity to ensure they meet all timelines required. A high level of accuracy, proficiency and professionalism are key criteria in providing quality services to the practice and quality customer service to our clients.

Overview of the Accounts Team Leader role:

  • Produce and monitor budgets for office revenues
  • Identify ways to grow the business
  • Identify ways to further improve our service to clients and where appropriate, increase fee income on existing clients.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Management team to support the wider growth of the business as well as your own office
  • Ensure you engage with the local business community through networking and other events.
  • Ensure all letters, emails, accounts, and working papers are correctly and professionally presented using Company templates and file structures
  • Review workload and consider what team members are required to deliver the office needs
  • Liaise with other team leaders and share workload to alleviate pressure where required
  • Update Iris PM with job stages performed, prioritise work and allocate jobs to staff accordingly to meet deadlines
  • Invoice for work done or ensure others who invoice do so in a timely manner
  • Discuss areas for improvement in team members work in an appropriate manner and provide training and support as needed
  • Develop strong relationships with clients
  • Manage workload for the site accordingly and delegate as appropriate
  • Actively review debtors and assist debt collection
  • Actively review WIP and assist in reducing the lock up time of WIP
  • Provide advice and support to all members of your office when required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Applicants must have a full ACA or ACCA qualification to be eligible for this role.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team player
