Our well established client is now looking for a Senior Commercial Property Solicitor (min 5years PQE) to join a small but growing Commercial Property team near Central Leeds, West Yorkshire. 

This opportunity offers the opportunity to take Lead of the expanding team, grow the team due to ever increasing client requirements, and develop your own team going forward.

Your role would include

  • Lead and motivate a team of fee earners, paralegals and assistants.
  • Provide guidance on regulatory, client care and legal issues
  • Monitor and managing performance of the team
  • Further developing the culture of delivering exceptional customer service to clients
  • Monitor and review workflow and caseloads, ensuring they are handled in a timely manner
  • Supporting the team with technical legal queries
  • Helping grow the business

Here’s what we need:

  • You will need to be a qualified solicitor
  • At least five years’ experience of working within a busy commercial property team
  • You will need a good understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct and other regulatory requirements
  • Have proven track record of providing proactive, consistent and efficient client services
  • Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and department targets
  • Ability to provide the highest standard of client care
  • To have excellent written and verbal communication
  • Team management experience
  • Problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail, good organisational skills and ability to priories workload

An opportunity has arisen within our Clients office in Leeds for an experienced Conveyancer to join the growing legal team and we are eager to fill the position as soon as possible.

The Role – Licensed Conveyancer / Conveyancing Fee Earner

As a Conveyancer, you will be dealing with all aspects of conveyancing including any complex title/conveyancing queries, carrying out title investigations, raising queries and reporting to clients ensuring transactions can progress to exchange as quickly as possible.

The role involves responsibility for checking that titles to properties are correct and marketable and dealing with all the legal aspects of the transaction.

  • Resolving issues with unregistered titles, Deeds of Trust, Deeds of Variation and Lease extensions etc. 
  • To take responsibility for a varied caseload of complex residential conveyancing matters including freehold, leasehold, registered, unregistered, shared ownership, new build properties and Limited Company transactions.
  • To maintain regular contact with clients and/or Conveyancers ensuring regular updates are provided within agreed internal and external SLA’s and within company procedures.
  • To act in accordance with our regulatory requirements including AML processes.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer care skills.
  • To deal with clients, solicitors, mortgage lenders, brokers, other stakeholders in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork and high performance, with a strong focus on customer care.
  • To identify and refer complex queries to your manager for assistance and guidance in dealing with the matter.
  • And in addition to the above, undertake any ad hoc duties when reasonably required.

Skills/Experience Required – Licensed Conveyancer / Conveyancing Fee Earner

  • Over 3 year experience in residential conveyancing role.
  • Proven experience handling a range of residential property matters.
  • The ability to progress transactions and manage caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of building strong and effective relationships.
  • Meet SLA’s.
  • Have a good understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct and any other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work quickly and maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and adapt to meet client and business needs.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage your own time
